Traditional, Non-Traditional Meet at Millstream Speedway

Findlay, OH, July 27, 2015 – Race fans that travel to Millstream Speedway this coming Sunday will get a taste of both the traditional and the non-traditional.  On the “traditional” side, the non-wing sprint cars of the Mo Vaughn Transport Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) will invade the ½ mile clay oval on Sunday, August 2.  Now in its 4th season, BOSS focuses on cost containment and bills itself as a “working man’s sprint car series.”   This has resulted in large fields of cars and has helped fuel a renaissance in Ohio of the more traditional style wingless racing that was the norm until at least the mid 1970s.

On the more non-traditional side, Millstream will also be featuring a stock car division with a few wrinkles, and not just on the quarter panels.  To encourage wide-spread participation and in support of a “Run to Have Fun” format, the stock cars will be permitted to run based on the rules of their home track.  In addition, anyone running a dirt truck compliant with Attica / Fremont rules will also be permitted to participate.  After all preliminary events, a “lucky dog” draw will allow two additional stock cars to join the 22-car main event.  The 3-division program will also be joined by the winged mini-sprints, based on Waynesfield rules.

There are a couple of schedule changes this week, with all gates now opening at 3:00pm.  This includes for reserving spots on the hillsides for lawn chairs and blankets.  To help get fans out in plenty of time, on-track action will begin a little earlier, at 5:30pm.  Race fans arriving early will enjoy race cars on display and a driver autograph session around 4:15pm, followed by a trivia contest.

Millstream Motorsports Complex, home of Millstream Speedway, is located 3 miles west of Findlay.  Take US-224 West to TR-136, turn right, just 2 blocks to the corner of TR-136 and TR-95.  Please do not park in areas marked as “no parking,” as you could be towed at your expense.  Stakes may not be used to mark hillside spots, but spray paint is OK.  No tape on the bleachers, please.  General admission is $20, Seniors (65 & older) $15, Youth 11-15 $10, 10yrs and under are FREE.  Coolers up to 14" permitted.  No glass, please.  No beer carried in but can be purchased on-site.
