One thing's for sure about the world of racers, race fans and race tracks and that's that the sense of community that is shared among all of them.  When people are in need, 'Fans of Fast' are never slow to offer assistance.  As Hurricane Florence bears down into the Carolinas, Charlotte Motor Speedway has opened it's Rock City Campground to welcome those who may be displaced from their homes.  Even though Charlotte is a bit west and north of where the strongest potential impact of Hurricane Florence is set to hit initially, those who are escaping from further east are welcomed by the track.

"While the Charlotte area is not completely out of the region that could face the effects of Hurricane Florence, for many of our neighbors to the east it is a safer alternative or a good stopping point as they seek shelter elsewhere," said Greg Walter, executive vice president of Charlotte Motor Speedway. "We look forward to welcoming anyone who needs a place to stop and to showing them the hospitality they deserve as we ride out this storm together."
