2011 Information & East Lincoln Speedway Rules

(12/13/2010)

With 2010 coming to a close, plans for 2011 at East Lincoln Speedway are in full swing. In addition to the 2011 schedule that will be released next month, East Lincoln Speedway management has been working hard on sponsorship for next year’s racing season as well as putting together the 2011 rules.
“We’re looking forward to a great 2011 at ELS”, said General Manager Shawn Parker. “We know that the racers have been anxiously awaiting the release of both our schedule & our 2011 rules. Our Tech Director Keith Frye has been researching and analyzing rules from neighboring tracks to develop a rules package for 2011 that makes sense both in terms of cost-containment & competition.”
For many of the divisions that race at East Lincoln Speedway on a weekly basis, there will only be minor rule changes. The biggest change will come in the four cylinder classes. For 2011, East Lincoln Speedway will run one four cylinder class, and focus on making it both as competitive & affordable as possible.
“Both of our four cylinder classes put on great racing at ELS this year”, said Parker. “Our goal is to bring the best drivers & teams from each division together to compete week in & week out. In the short run, there will be some adjustment, but in the long run, we hope to have a strong field of cars that will require both an A Main & a B Main each week. We expect the new class, which will go by the Super Stock Four name, to have some of the most competitive 4 cylinder racing in the area.”
“When developing the rules for the combined class, we took elements from both the Stock Four & Super Stock Four 2010 rules, and made minor adjustments to bring the two classes together into one class”, said Tech Director Keith Frye. “It should be no problem for teams from either class to compete in the 2011 Super Stock Four racing division at ELS.”
A majority of the 2011 rules have been posted to the ELSPEEDWAY.com website under the Team Info tab. This includes the Limited Sportsman Rules, the Renegade Rules, the Super Stock Four Rules, Safety Rules & the General Rules. The Micro Sprint division will follow the 2011 U6SA rules, and the current ELS Micro Sprint rules. The Open Wheel Modified rules will be released in the near future once more information is available about the proposed 2011 Modified tour in the NC/SC area.
Misc. Notes:
East Lincoln Speedway management is looking into the option of phasing in a race tire for the Renegade division in 2011 or 2012. If the racetrack decides to go in this direction, then more info will be posted at a later date.
East Lincoln Speedway may consider phasing in a racing tire for the Super Stock Four division in 2012. The racetrack will look at this option after the 2011 season is complete.
Rules for the Legend Cars & new US Legends Modified will be handled by INEX & US Legend Cars. They can be contacted at 704-455-3906.
