Compact Rules for 2010

1. Leave windshield and stock dash board in. This is a STOCK RACE CAR. NO MODIFICATIONS AT ALL. STRICKTLY ENFORCED.
2. Participants: This class is open to anyone 12 years of age or older. Drivers under 18 must show proof of age and must have a parent sign the waiver every week. CHEATERS- Anything not covered by the following rules; abuse of rules, and creative interpretation of the rules should be checked with a tech inspector before proceeding. If it's not factory DON'T DO IT. Any decision on questionable items about rules is up to the tech inspector and his or her decisions are FINAL! 
3. Awards: this is a points and trophy class only. The top 5 feature finishers will receive a trophy after tech. 
4. Scanner: all drivers must use a scanner. This is for the scoring tower to put you back into your right position. You may not use a 2-way communication scanner. We will give you the frequency. 
5. ELIGIBILITY: 1980 through PRESENT American or Foreign made passenger cars front wheel drive. NO convertibles or two seat coupes. NO GT, Z, RX sports coupes.
6. ENGINES: Four and six cylinders only. No turbo charged engines. Must be the same as was available for year/make/model car, and must be in factory stock location with original stock engine mounts. All engines must retain all components that came with car. A/C can be removed. Trucks & mini vans see rule above. 
7. PAINTING/NUMBERS: All cars must be painted and be neat in appearance & professionally lettered at all times. They must look like a racecar; badly damaged cars must be straightened. Numbers must be assigned by MMS office, and must be painted on both sides of car and on the ROOF of the car, readable from the tower, in minimum twenty-four (24") heights. Make sure numbers do not blend in with color of race-car. ALSO a 6" number with the letter (C) lettered in white located on the upper right side (Passenger side) of the windshield. NOTE: DUPLICATE CAR NUMBERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED!! 
8. SUSPENSION/BRAKES: DON’T TOUCH THEM. DON’T MODIFY ANYTHING. DON’T CAMBER WHEELS, DON’T SPACE THEM. Don't change the Sway bar pins to have one small and one big. Heated suspension parts will have car banned from Monroe Motor Speedway. 
9. Frame height: a minimum of 6 inches. Trucks/mini vans will be a minimum of 8 inches. 
10. The top five finishers in any feature event may be tested for displacement. This inspection will be performed before prizes are awarded. Any car/driver not passing inspection shall forfeit all prizes and will not be permitted to compete for two weeks and until such inspection can be passed. MMS WILL randomly check OEM computers after a feature event. You will lose points from that night and the previous week's points. Factory VIN number must be in its original position or we will use the one on frame (Vin number is found on dashboard by the windshield) and must show no signs of tampering. NO RACING MODIFICATIONS WHATSOEVER! 
11. Tires: 13-15 inch tires. No directionals, No racing tires or performance tires. If the car came with a performance tire then take them off and put on a factory street tire. A max. 65 or 75 series tire, NO 55's.
12. Wheels: must remain stock. Right front may be a wagon wheel for durability. Stock aluminum wheels ok.
13. Protest: if you have reason to believe a competitor is cheating, you may protest, before the feature please inform the head tech official. He will give you a form to fill out. After feature you must report to tech garage. You and anyone in your division may watch the tech official's tech the race-car. Drivers or car owners only. If driver is found to be cheating he or she will lose points from that night and week before. 

THE RULES AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS SET FORTH HERIN ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FOR THE ORDERLY CONDUCT OF RACING EVENTS AND TO ESTABLISH MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCH EVENTS. THESE RULES SHALL GOVERN THE CONDITION OF ALL MONROE MOTOR SPEEDWAY EVENTS, AND BY PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS, ALL MONROE SPEEDWAY ENTRANTS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE COMPLIED WITH THESE RULES. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS. THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDE FOR THE SPORT AND ARE IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE AGAINST INJURY OR DEATH TO PARTICIPANTS, SPECTATORS, OR OTHERS. 

Getting your car ready checklist: 
1. Get your Monroe Speedway car number. $10.00 yearly registration fee.
2. Remove all glass except windshield 
3. Remove headlights
4. Remove tail lights
5. Remove all interior
6. Remove hood latch/ Remove insulation under hood it will burn.
7. Remove trunk latch and break tension bar so trunk stays closed by own weight. Remove insulation.
8. Use all but driver's seat belt to latch hood and trunk closed.
9. You can move battery into passenger compartment with battery box for your protection.
10. Take hub caps off and paint rims.
11. Weld or chain doors shut. You can get doors welded at track at a low cost.
12. Add a tow chain to front and back bumper. This is mandatory.
13. Paint car.
14. Add your favorite number.
15. Helmet/ No open face.
16. Long sleeve shirt and pants/ but recommended racing suite but not mandatory.
17. Roll cage recommended. Minimum 1 ½” .095. Must have four door bars on driverside. Driver door only may be hulled out to accommodate door bars.
