2010 Thunder Stock Rules

This division is proudly sponsored by a business. If you are running in this division and want to be a part of the winnings at the end of each evening you must run that business’ sticker on the passenger side of your race car. No sticker no money. Sticker provided by MMS. This division is designed for the driver who wants to race at an inexpensive cost. This will be a paid class. This car will be able to run in the Figure 8 division with no modifications. 

You must be at least 12 years old to race in this class. No passengers will be allowed to be in car with you. 

CHEATERS: Anything not covered by the following rules; abuse of rules and creative interpretation of the rules will result in suspension from MMS. You should check with a tech inspector before proceeding. Any decision on questionable items about rules is up to the tech inspector and his or her decisions are FINAL! 

2010 RULES & SPECIFICATIONS 
1. Engines-must remain stock in stock location. No modifications at all. NO BIG BLOCKS. All engine parts must be OEM and in working order. Solid motor and transmission mounts are allowed. Camshaft, Valvetrain, and Cylinder Heads: Hydraulic cam and lifters only, .447 maximum lift or maintain minimum of 14" vacuum at 1200 RPM. 1.94 intake, 1.50 exhaust maximum valve size. No bowtie, SVO, or performance heads allowed. No “double humps”. Stock size valve springs only. Stamped steel 1.5 rockers only, 1.6 on fords, no roller tips. Must be unaltered, OEM steel heads. May use stock type screw in studs.305 chevy engines may use 305 heads. Cubic inch limit 362 on GM & Ford, 370 on Chrysler. NO 400 Blocks or 400 Cranks. 
2. WEIGHT: 3000 POUNDS WITH THE DRIVER AFTER THE FEATURE. 
3. Radiator: Can use aftermarket. No Anti-freeze or additives. You will be fined $25.00 for clean up. 
4. Carburetion: Must be on naturally aspirated unaltered stock type carburetor for that make and model. No more than One (1), half inch spacer or adapter. Box Holley #4412 will be allowed. No modifications or alterations except that the choke plate may be removed. Do not touch base plate, venture, pump, squirters, etc..2BBL. GM carbs allowed. 
5. Fuel pumps: Must be stock. No electric pumps. 
6. Fuel tank: may be in original location or secured in trunk. Fuel cell recommended. 
7. Exhaust: Headers allowed, no 180’s, no over rail, no step headers. 
8. Intake Manifold: any intake. 
9. Transmissions: Stock automatic or standard. No racing converters. Transmission cooler are allowed. No Aluminum fly wheels Stock single disc clutch only for standards. GM powerglides allowed. Must have working converter. 
10. Drive shaft: All drive-shafts must have a safety strap on it. Drive shaft must be painted white. 
11. Safety: Racing suits are mandatory. An approved snell helmet is mandatory. No open face helmets. You must add a fire extinuguisher in drivers reach. 
12. Roll cage: mandatory four door bars on driver side. 1 ½ “. 095 minimum. 
13. Doors: Must be welded or chained shut. No mirrors of any kind. 
14. Body: Any American made stock passenger car with full frame. Uni-body cars must weigh 3200lbs & must run a box stock Holley #4412 with no modification. No front wheel drives. If you don't have a windshield you must have 3 bars in front of driver. Front and rear outer fenders may be cut for wheel and tire clearance. Must have stock front and rear firewalls. Must have stock floor pan. Rear spoiler allowed. Must be lexan. 5” tall 60” wide maximum. 
15. Bumpers: Must be stock for year, make and model. You must have a tow chain on front and rear bumper for quick tow. No EXCEPTIONS. Plastic nose pieces are allowed. But must meet tech mans approval. 
16. Brakes: All must be in working order. All components must be stock in stock location. OEM components only. After market master cylinders ok. 
17. Tires and Wheels: 8" max. wide wheels allowed, 15½ dia. steel wheels only. You can run a 1½ lug nut. Hoosier asphalt pull-offs can be used Pull offs will have a minimum durometer supplied by Hoosier. Or, 8” Goodyear track tire. 
18. Seats: Racing seats ok. Racing seat belts are mandatory. 
19. Steering: Can us a racing dis-connect steering wheel. Stock steering sector mandatory. 
20. Suspension: Front and rear suspension must be stock for that make and model of car. No modifications of the suspension will be allowed. No air shocks or aftermarket racing parts. 
21. Rear end: stock rear-end for make and model. No posi-traction. NO EXCEPTIONS. Locked rear ends allowed. 
22. Shocks & Springs: Stock mount only. No modifications what so ever. 
23. Protest Rule: You must be specific on what you want protested. Any driver in the same race on the lead lap may protest another car Immediately after feature in the tech area…..$250.00 cash $ 50.00 to the track.
