Williams Grove Speedway Cancels Friday Racing After Fatal Crash,

August 15 Saturday Series Program Is Also Cancelled

Mechanicsburg - Williams Grove Speedway cancelled its racing program midway through practice laps on Friday night after a racing accident claimed the life of sprint car driver James “Jim” Campbell Jr., of Feasterville.

 

The accident took place in the third corner of the speedway during warm ups.

 

The staff and management of Williams Grove Speedway express and extend sincere sympathy to the Campbell family at this difficult time. 

 

The Saturday Series racing program slated for August 15 has also been cancelled out of the utmost respect for the Campbell family as well as for all speedway employees, staff, management and emergency personnel as they all attempt to deal with the tragedy at hand. 

 

Rainchecks from the August 14 racing program will of course be honored. 

 

For fans and racers who currently hold an outstanding Saturday Series raincheck, an additional week has been added to the time period permitted to redeem those rainchecks.
