(7/24/2015)

The  Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Racing Series has a double header this weekend with the ULMS Late Models making their first ever visit to the ¼ mile oval at Marion Center Speedway for the historic 30 lap $2000 to win event.  On Sunday, the UEMS Emods will finally kick off their 2015 season after two rain out events at Tri City Raceway Park in Franklin, PA.  The UEMS Emods will be running a 25 lap $1000 to win event on Tri City’s 2015 season opener after suffering several rainouts.

Saturday night at the historical Marion Center Speedway on top of the hill in Marion Center,  Pennsylvania, the little ¼ mile Potts family owned facility will see their biggest event of the season take place as the Zimmer’s Service Center Inc. United Late Model Series will invade the facility.  The northern Pennsylvania based series will be going up against the weekly Marion Center heroes and other outside regional visitors in a 30 lap event that will pay $2000 to the winner.

The ULMS Late Models will be lead by Dubois, PA veteran, Bill Davis will lead the ULMS teams into Marion Center.  Davis has a four point lead over Frewsburg, NY driver, John Lobb.  Max Blair visited Marion Center Speedway victory lane last weekend sits one point behind Lobb in a three way tie with Jared Miley and Keith Barbara.  Miley is coming in as the hottest super late model driver in the region with three wins last weekend.   Rich Gardner and Doug Eck will also be on hand as they have earned guaranteed starting positions for events that have won earlier in this month at Marion Center.   Billy Eash will be looking to defend his home track against the northern ULMS stars as the tracks point leader.  Other Marion Center stars looking to grab the big $2000 prize will be Ken Schaltenbrand, Andrew Gordon, Mike Blose, Wally Fox, Jerry Redden, Shawn Claar, Dave Blazavich, Doug Glessner and many other top weekly Marion Center Speedway stars.

Teams are reminded that Raceivers are mandatory with the ULMS Racing Series with the default channel 454.000 being used.  No transponders are needed for Saturday at Marion Center Speedway.  The evening race procedure will be based of the ULMS Racing Series rules of pill draw for heat race starting positions.  Heat race laps will be determined by car count of either 8 or 10 laps.  For this event only the redraw will be replaced by the Dave & Belle Thrill on the Hill Dash in memory of the late track owners Dave and Marybelle Potts.  To be eligible for the dash, you must be in the redraw, which will consist of top 2 finishers if there are three, four or even five heats.  The Dave & Belle Thrill on the Hill Dash will pay $200 to win, $100 for second and $50 for the remaining positions.  The rest of the field will be lined up by their heat and or consolation finishes along with series and track provisional if needed.

Pit Gates open at 5:30PM with pit passes at $30.  There is a $20 entry fee for the ULMS event upon registering and drawing your pill.  Grandstand gates open at 6PM with adult admission $15, Sr Citizen $14, Kids 7-12yrs old $8, kids 6 and under are free and Family Pack of 2 adults and 2 kids for $35.
