The 2015 racing season at Crisp Motorsports Park, the home of Watermelon Capital Speedway officially began Saturday evening in Cordele, Georgia despite the rainy conditions earlier in the afternoon. Racers and spectators in attendance witnessed great racing throughout the evening in all classes.

Starting the evening were the Economy Karts which saw Perry, Georgia’s Dawn Brackett scoring the win as Moultrie’s Rue Walden crossed the line in second, Perry’s Doug Sanneman in third, Jessie James of Chauncey finished fourth and Kristen Ezell of Covington completed the top five.

Flathead/Stock Appearing Karts were next up on the racing card for the evening and Karston Thomas of Phenix City scored the victory as Jeremy More of Hawkinsville was second, Cliff Daniels of Vienna was third, Eric Bloodworth of Perry finished fourth and James Lynn of Kathleen completing the top five.

The action packed Enduro division had Cordele’s very own John Burke scoring his first win of 2015 with Leesberg’s Carlton Isreal in second, Brandt Harvin of Forsyth in third, James Yawn of Cordele in fourth and Jay Sorrow of Cordele rounding out the top five.

Outlaw Latemodels were the finial feature event of the evening which had Tallahassee Florida’s Stuart Dutton capturing the flag as Hawkinsville’s Tony Head finished second, Warren Mobley of Griffin was third, Christopher Tullis of Dacula finished fourth and Stewart Smith of Barnesville completed the top five.

The next event at Crisp Motorsports Park takes place on April 25th with racing in all local classes with gates opening at 5pm, practice at 6pm and racing at 7:30pm.
