Muller Distributing Miller Lite Twin 50’s at Macon Speedway

Macon, IL – Macon Speedway will be hosting their annual Mueller Distributing Miller Lite Twin 50’s as the Big Ten Late Model Series and Tri Track Challenge Modifieds will race for 50 Laps in hopes of earning the win.

As the Big Ten Late Model Series race for $1,500 to win which should bring out great racing action as points leader Jeremy Nichols -266 will fight to hold off Jim Moon and Mike Hammerle -224 , while Kerby Damery -200, and Chris Dick -180 conclude the top five in points. While drivers like Ryan Little, Brian Diverly, Brandon Sheppard, Terry Reed, Roger Brickler, Jake Little, and Kyle Logue come to try and take the win away from local favorites.

The UMP Modifieds will race for $750 to win as points leader David Crawley Jr -438 will try and hold of Aaron Burcham -424, Mark Tullis -414, Danny Smith -408, and Joe Strawkas conclude the top five in points. While drivers like Kyle Logue, Eric Hamilton, Curt Rhodes, Jeff Graham, and Tommy Sheppard try to take the win away from the guy that has been unbeatable David Crawley Jr.

Big Ten Late Model Series has seen some exciting racing in the last two visits to Macon Speedway. Come see Steve Lance Jr try and take the points lead from Brandon Sheppard. While Kyle Logue plays catch up to the field in efforts to take the points lead back. Current Top 10 in points Brandon Sheppard -168, Lance Jr -160, Nichols -158, Hammerle -136, Brickler -126, Logue -124, Hughes -114, Dick -110, Moon – 104, and Ryan Little – 100.

This weekend will also be a Tri Track Challenge for the UMP Modifieds. Which is three races between Jacksonville, Macon, and Shepps Speedway to pay a bonus to the driver collecting the most points between the three events in one weekend. The Tri Track Challenge dates are June 12th – Macon, June 13th – Shepps, the next weekend this will be up for grabs is July 16th – Jacksonville, July 17th – Macon, and July 18th at Shepps.

Macon Speedway’s “Best Fan in the Stands” sponsored by All Service Racing Parts and Sheet Metal, located on Damon Ave. across from Firestone. “All Service Racing Parts is your only All Star Performance dealer in Decatur”. A lucky fan will win $400 this week if their name is draw from the box after the Modified feature event. If the Best Fan in the Stands is not present the prize money will roll over into next week’s prize.  Macon Speedway will also be drawing an extra 50/50 ticket to give one lucky fan a ride in the Macon Speedway 2 seater Late Model driven by one of Macon Speedway’s local drivers.

Saturday night’s schedule will feature six UMP divisions, including the Late Models, Modifieds, Touchstone Energy Sportsman, Street Stock, Pro and Amateur Hornets.

Be sure to mark your calendar with the upcoming events. June 15th will be Night of NASCAR Stars II with Tony Stewart, Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader with POWRi Midgets and Mircos plus UMP Modifieds, and Street Stocks. On June 17th Macon Speedway will host an open practice session for all cars. June 18th will kick off the 1st Ever Building Systems of Illinois Mini Sprint Nationals sponsored by Hollingsworth Performance, Hyper Chassis, Horve Builders, Saldana Racing Products, and Pipeworks for 2 days of racing as they race for $5K to Win on June 19th. June 26th will be Miles Chevrolet Hall of Fame and Reunion for the 65th Anniversary of Macon Speedway.

Macon Speedway offers fun family entertainment every Saturday night from April to September.  With many fan favorite events on schedule, including three “Night of NASCAR Stars” nights planned and the famous Herald and Review 100, UMP’s premier Summer National event, 2010 is stacking up to be a memorable year.  Be sure to come join Macon Speedway for an action packed summer.
