REAGAN MAY CAPTURES FIRST CAREER FEATURE WIN AT MARSHFIELD!

(6/2/2014)

Marshfield, WI, (May 31, 2014) – Race fans were treated to a great night of racing action, as four divisions of racing provided some great side-by-side racing.

As the Super Late Models entered the track for their 35-lap feature event, it was LaCrosse, WI veteran driver Don “Thunder” Turner leading the way.  As the high powered super late models crossed the line in completing the first lap, it was Reagan May edging out Turner by a nose.  As the two cars battled down the backstretch, it was May getting the edge, and putting her bright red #33 car in the lead.  Behind May, it was Cory Kemkes and Turner battling for the runner up position.  Kemkes would clear Turner by lap six, and now had his sights on May.  As May and Kemkes ran first and second respectively, it was Rangeline, WI driver Kyle Genett working his way to the third position from his outside row four starting position.  By lap 13, it was Genett racing his way past Kemkes for second.  With Reagan May building up a sizeable lead, it was evident that Genett would be able to reel May in.  Kyle Genett raced his way to the inside of May on numerous occasions, as the two drivers raced down the shoots. But it was May getting the advantage in the corners, and getting a better run out of the corners.  May and Genett battled side by side for numerous laps, but it was May putting her car back out front.  Working his way through the field, was fast timer Ben Pettis of Eau Claire, WI.  Pettis moved into the third position by lap 20, but it looked as if he may need a caution to have a chance for the win.  With May holding a one car length lead over Genett, it looked as if Genett was cooling his tires to make one more attempt at May for the win.  As Genett looked to the inside of May, his car just didn’t have enough grip to get out of the corner, and get the run he needed to make the pass.  Could this be the night that Reagan May would get her first career feature win, perhaps!  As starter Geno Eckes threw the white flag, indicating one lap remaining, it was May holding a car length lead over a very fast Genett.  As Genett gave it one more last ditch effort for the win, it was May crossing the line first, earning her first career feature win!  With Genett finishing second, it was Ben Pettis third, and Cory Kemkes and Jordan Thiel rounding out the top five.  Heat winners tonight were Thunder Turner and Jordan Thiel.  Kyle Genett won the Napa of Marshfield Dash 4 Cash.

X-Treme 4′s were apart of the program again tonight, and with 14 cars qualifying, they were surely going to put on a great feature for the race fans attending the speedway tonight.

Chuck Dixon raced his way past Danielle Behn and earned the lead as the two drivers completed lap one.  Dixon, who earlier in the evening pocketed his heat win, moved out to a 3-car length lead.  Dixon would lead the first seven laps, but by lap eight, it was Antigo’s Brad Conant going to the top spot.  Adam Eckes moved to the second position, and looked to take the top spot away from Conant.  Conant was a bit strong as he motored down the front stretch, holding off a fast Eckes.  As Conant had is way with the field of 14 cars, and leading the way, the best racing action was between Adam Eckes, Steve Hauser, and Derk Hauser.  On the white flag lap, Steve Hauser raced his way past Eckes to earn the second position.  With Brad Conant motoring his way across the finishline first, it was Steve Hauser taking the runner up spot.  Adam Eckes was able to hold off a fast Derk Hauser for the third position, with Phil Malouf coming home in the fifth position.  In post race inspection, the Conant car was found not to be in compliance with the rules, and Hauser awarded the win.
