Renegade Tire Rule to Remain Unchanged for 2011

(2/2/2011)

After careful consideration, East Lincoln Speedway management has decided to keep the 2011 Renegade tire rule the same as it was in 2010.

We were evaluating the use of the Goodyear G45 racing tire due to safety concerns,” said General Manager Shawn Parker. “But because of the potential cost impact on our drivers, we decided it needed additional review and discussion. We may revisit the idea again after the season, but for the 2011 season, we will allow the same tires that we did in 2010.”

Renegade Tire Rule:

Renegades will be allowed to run any 60 or 70 Series Street Tire or Towel City retread (hardest compound).  No mud grips or snow tires will be allowed. Tires cannot be siped, and no tire soaking/softening agents of any kind are allowed. Tires cannot be screwed to the wheel in any way.
