Camden started racing at nine years old. While most kids start in "kid karts" or "sprint karts", Camden started in the newly formed Central States Racing (CSR) Super Cup Series. Super cups are 1/2 scale race cars powered by 20 HP generator motors capable of speeds in excess of 100MPH. Camden quickly adapted to the high power "mash the gas" excitement of CSR racing. Camden went on to win races, pole positions and the CSR Rookie of the year in 2006. In 2007 Camden followed up his rookie season with the CSR Super Cup Championship. The season came down to a one race "last lap" shootout for the event win with Garett Goodwin AND the championship. Camden prevailed to win the race and the title.

In 2009 Camden moved to the INEX legend series at Illiana Speedway and Grundy County Speedway. Murphy enjoyed instant success winning multiple titles at both tracks. Murphy Motorsports also added a full size 450HP NASCAR style truck for Camden to compete with on the United States Super Truck (USST) Series. Camden captured "Rookie of the Year" honors there in 2009.

In 2010 Camden moves to the ultra professional American Speed Association (ASA) Midwest Truck Tour. Races shown on television will reach over 2.5 million homes on the FOX Sports Network

#85 Camden Murphy will compete in ASA Midwest Truck Tour in 2010

By:  MURPHY MOTORSPORTS Press Team (Friday, January 15, 2010)

Fourteen year old Itasca Illinois driver Camden Murphy has announced his plans to race fulltime on the new American Speed Association ASA Midwest Truck Tour in 2010. Murphy will set his focus on winning the inaugural Midwest Truck Tour Rookie of the Year title.

The officials of the American Speed Association Midwest Tour announced the addition of the ASA Midwest Truck Tour today. Camden recently attended a special meeting to discuss the potential of the ASA Midwest Tour launching a truck program. Since that meeting Camden and the entire  MURPHY MOTORSPORTS team have been hoping to hear today’s big announcement.

Tim Olson, President of the ASAMT and Steve Einhaus, VP of the ASAMT, decided that teaming up to promote the trucks was a great decision.

"We are building our portfolio for the future and with the addition of the new Midwest Sportsman Tour and now the Midwest Trucks…. we can provide the whole package to the race fan”; commented Tim Olson, President of the ASAMT.

"This is exciting news and we are happy to welcome another Truck Series to ASA," Dennis Huth, ASA President said. "I had an opportunity to watch these trucks compete last year and they put on some great side-by-side, tailgate-to-tailgate racing. The fans will enjoy watching them compete on the Midwest tracks."
