I used to race lawnmowers in Naples, FL in my own backyard. NASGRASS(1995-2001?) North American Society of Grass Racers and Sod Slingers. My husband and I had 7 acres and we built a track next to our canal. #19-Mowdacious.
Then we got involved in Swamp Buggy races and I was a timer and he was first a flagger then a Judge.
I like hometown races on dirt tracks and small oval. I went to the Hangover 250 in Punta Gorda, FL, once. A New Years Eve/Day tradition there. What a blast; blind-folded racers with passenger telling driver what to do! Backward racing under the lights. Demolition derby, etc. Miss that much.
Been to Daytona every year for Race week and the 4th of July races for about 6-7yr. Camped at Nova Campgrounds off Clyde Morris Dr.
Best campsite for the money.
I am moving back to GreenBay, WI in 2014 to start over. Looking forward to going to new races and meeting like minded people. Happy New Year!
