One Twin 25 down, One Twin 25 to Go!!!

This past weekend at Sycamore Speedway was the Twin 25's for the Super Late Model drivers. What an amazing night of racing and entertainment. Friday night, Speedway staff was forced to cancel the last Friday night due to rain and the extreme cold weather. Do not fret, there are more Demoltion Derbies and excitment to come. Speedway General Manager, Tiffany Gerace has announced..."on September 27th, our scheduled Run What Your Brung night they will be hosting demoltion derbies of all sorts." The story behind run what you brung is that you will be allowed to race any race car you bring to the track. Essentially there are no racecar restrictions and all cars from any track are welcome to join the fun. This includes demo cars. Any car that you want to smash will be allowed to be destroyed. Sycamore Speedway is also offering $500.00 to win the main demoltion derby!!

On Saturday night, Sycamore Speedway had a yearly high car count in the Super Late Model class. After the rain on Friday night the track was unusually wet and tacky. The drivers of all divisions continued to put on a show throughout the evening. The Twin 25's were a constant battle for all drivers during part one and part two. The race came down to Jeff Kerley (13), Charlie Olson (28), and Jim Klingel (O2). Kerley finished with a lead from the rest of the pack. Olson and Klingel continued to battle it out for that 2nd place spot. With Olson finishing in 2nd and Klingel in 3rd. Current Points leader Jay Brendle (15) finished in the fourth spot. The Late Model drivers put on another caution free 25 lap feature. Current points leader and 2014 Champion Jordan Jackowiak (10) took home the win. If this past weekend's Late Model racing was any clue to what this upcoming weekend Twin 25's will be, we are all in for a great night of racing!

Almost 30 Compacts showed up for two heat races and an action packed feature. The Spectators also put on a great show. The drivers gave the crowd some great excitment as four or five cars pilled up on the back stretch on the last lap of the last race. The ladies of racing have continued to keep the points race Mickee Runge (10) won the heat and feature. The young driver has been chasing down the continuously victorious Ms. Linda Sparks (73J). The girls are now two points apart with Sparks still on top. This Saturday remaining, double friday points will be awarded to the Spectator, Compact, and Powder Puff classes. The Powder Puff Championship will come down to the feature. Whos going to be the 2014 Powder Puff Champ?? Linda Sparks (73J) with 105 points or Mickee Runge (10) with 103 points. Both ladies eager for their first Championship!!
