SEASON WRAPS UP WITH SUCCESSFUL PARK CITY / USMTS CHISHOLM TRAIL SHOWDOWN

(11/9/2016)

With comfortable and above normal temps for November in Kansas, the first ever Park City / USMTS Chisholm Trial Showdown turned the lights out on another season here at 81 Speedway in Park City, Ks.

General Manager C. Ray Hall addressed the near capacity crowd during Saturday nights Championship program with his desire to continue bringing into 81 Speedway the best dirt track auto racing has to offer and to strive to provide an entertaining weekly program heading forward.

His address included the announcement of another USMTS Chisholm Trail Shootout in November of 2017, the season opening $10,000 To Win NCRA Sprint Car Park City Cup / Air Capital Shootout March 23, 24, 25, along with the return of the World of Outlaws to 81 Speedway on Saturday night May 6.

The laid to rest 2016 season saw the infusion of transponders (electronic scoring) required for each division at the speedway, and a mid-season exit from the schedule by the Cruisers and the four-cylinder Hornet division.

The winter months will host a stint with the change over of the concession stand into a "Popcorn" factory for 30 days rolling out Chirstmas Tins filled with Carmel, Cheese, Cinnamon and Butter popcorn, while also working on the 2017 schedule and marketing.

The 2016 NCRA and 81 Speedway Awards Banquet will be held again at the Cotillion Ballroom in Wichita, Ks. on Saturday night, January 28, 2017.  For infomation and reservations on the banquet, contact Mylisa at the speedway office (316-755-1781).
