Marion Center Speedway Announces 2013 Race Season Opening (47th year at "The Thrill On The Hill"
(5/1/2013)
- Marion Center Speedway announces its opening night of Saturday May 4 for the 47TH Season under the continuous direction of the Potts family. After a successful 2013 Test and Tune Day on the 27TH, Marion Center Speedway is ready to open the gates for the start of the racing season. The track was prepped and tested by the various cars that came to the test/tune event and held up very well. The new clay that was added stayed in place and the cars seemed to take to the overall excellent condition the track was in. All six divisions were represented at the track last Saturday; and drivers ranged from rookie to well into veteran status. Some were trying out new cars, and some were testing new setups for the season. It was a good mix of everything including the weather.
The starting lineup for the 2013 season includes the Lias Tire Super Latemodels, Force Inc. Steel Block Limited Latemodels, Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Fastrak Crate Latemodels, W. G. Satterlee & Sons Street Stocks, Willow Farm Campground Strictly Stocks, and the Best Kawasaki Mod-Lites. We welcome the newest divisions- the Fastrak Crate Latemodels, and Mod-Lites, and their fans to Marion Center Speedway as well as our new sponsors Best Kawasaki in Big Run and Force Inc. of Indiana picking up the division sponsorship of the Limited Latemodels. The Spectator Drags are also back this season and so are the Kid’s Bike Races.

Drivers be sure to come prepared with your “receivers” for track officials to talk you into lineup positions or other necessary information. The Raceivers radio systems can be rented or purchased from Lias Tire in Indiana if you don’t already have one. If you have any questions about the race receivers, please direct your questions to Lias Tire Racing Division in Indiana as they can best handle all technical problems or concerns.
We’re ready for another exciting season at Marion Center Speedway, so join us at “The Thrill On The Hill” Saturday Nights this summer for the 47TH Season of Racing under one family’s ownership!
